Three basic mistakes you should avoid when installing a prefabricated pool

If you don’t want to spend your money for nothing, if you want to enjoy your pool for a long time I will focus your attention on three problems that you should avoid when you install your prefabricated pool.

1. The foundation on which you will install the pool plays a very important role. Don’t install the pool directly on the ground, even if the ground looks very hard. Every foundation different from the concrete foundation is unpredictable and the risk of pool falling is very high. In that case the guarantee of the pool isn’t valid. The best option is to cast a reinforced concrete bottom, 15-20cm thick. So you can be sure that the foundation of the pool will be strong.

Also if it is necessary to install the pool on a slope, the place where the pool will be mounted should be leveled and the wall of the pool shouldn’t support the slope. In that case is better to build a supporting wall on the side of the slope.

2. When making an offer for a pool that is longer than 5m some companies include only one skimmer with one inlet nozzle. They put the inlet nozzle next to the skimmer. These companies want to give you the lowest price, use this practice and don’t care that consequently the water filtration will be affected and there will always be problems with the water quality. That is why you should keep in mind that for pools longer than 5m and round pools with diameter larger than 5m you should provide one or more skimmers and the inlet nozzles should be positioned on the opposite side of the skimmer. This ensures a perfect circulation of the pool water and the water will be easily maintained.

3. When you install the pool, a backfilling with drier concrete should be made between the wall and the soil. This backfill protects the pool wall from damage, if the soil around the pool settles down. If the pool is filled with water, there is no problem, but when the pool is half empty for the winter or when all the water is drained for the spring, there is a danger of settling of the soil. We often see damaged pools, without backfill. Don’t take a risk, do the backfill! This is the only way to guarantee a long time and trouble-free use of the pool.
