There are three methods for cleaning pools: with a mechanical cleaner, with a semi-automatic cleaner and with an automatic cleaner (robot).
The mechanical cleaner consists of an aluminum rod, a hose and a brush. The three parts are assembled and connected to the skimmer by means of a plastic pad. It is only necessary to bleed the hose and you can start cleaning.
If the bottom of the pool is very dirty, the following is recommended: the bottom is scrubbed with a separate brush, then the filter system is stopped to settle the garbage on the bottom and only then is the cleaner used. This method is faster and less laborious.
Semi-automatic cleaners are connected to the filter system via a hose through the skimmer and are controlled by it. Their price varies from 300 euros to 1000 euros.
Semi-automatic cleaners are reliable and clean qualitatively. The good performance of semi-automatic pool cleaners depends on the technical characteristics of the pool pump. The pump must have a capacity of at least 5 cubic meters per hour in order to connect the semi-automatic pool cleaner to it. If the sand filter is dirty or has not been backwashed for a long time, there is a possibility that the pump will not reach the required power.
Automatic pool cleaners or robots, as they are also called, work without connecting to the filter system. A pump built into the pool cleaner sucks water from the pool, sends it to the filter located in the device, and the purified water is returned back to the pool.
The automatic pool cleaner not only cleans the pool, but also filters the water in it and, which is very important, distributes the preparations in the pool. For example, if you have thrown chlorine or algaecide, the robot spreads them throughout the pool as well as on the walls.
