Figure-of-eight pools can be installed on the surface of the ground, can be built-in or semi-built-in.
As with the other two models of prefabricated pools, this type should also be avoided by placing it on an embankment. Also, if the terrain is sloping, a flat place should be prepared where the pool can be installed.
Before installing the pool, an excavation should be made with dimensions about 1m larger than the size of the pool.
The special thing about this model of pools is that a steel support structure is worked into the concrete, which gives the pool the shape of the number eight.
The support structure is placed in a specially prepared excavation for it, and it must be perfectly leveled.
Then a reinforced concrete slab with a thickness of 20 cm is cast. Now you can proceed with the installation of the pool walls. First, the lower finishing profile is placed. Then the metal wall of the pool is inserted into it.
Now the holes for the skimmer, nozzles, and spotlights are cut.
Then, a geotextile pad is laid on the concrete, which protects the foil and maintains its elasticity. In the next stage, the PVC foil is attached to the upper edge of the metal wall of the pool. It is important to know that the ideal temperature for installing the foil is between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius. Since the foil is very elastic, if the temperature is lower, it shrinks, and if the temperature is higher, it stretches more than necessary.
After the foil is attached to the pool wall, it is attached with a special finishing profile. We recommend that you use only such a type of top profile that does not need to be removed when the foil needs to be replaced. So, if you have curbstone around the pool, you will not need to break it.
When the foil is attached to the walls, the pool is filled with about ten centimeters of water and the foil along the bottom is stretched.
Then the pool is filled another 20-30 cm and when the foil is stretched along the walls, a skimmer, nozzles, and spotlights are installed.
Now the sand filter system is installed and connected to the pool.
If the pool is dug into the ground, a backfill with semi-dry concrete should be made around it. The backfill protects the pool walls from bending in the event of a landslide.
Do not neglect the construction of the backfill, otherwise your pool will suffer.
We recommend that you put insulation between the pool wall and the backfill.
After you have completed the backfill, the pool is installed.
