The selection of a suitable filter system is essential premise for clear and clean water. All the water in the pool should be filtered twice a day. That is why you should choose a sufficiently powerful filter system.
In the sand filter systems the water is filtered through quartz sand. The process is controlled by a 6-position valve. When the sand is dirty, the pressure in the manometer increases. In this case the 6-position valve should be put on position "backwash”, then turn on the pump, wait 3-4 minutes to wash the filter, after which put the valve on position “rinse”, turn on the pump again for about a minute. In this way you should wash the filter.
It is recommended once a week to do the backwashing of the filter system.
The pump has a pre-filter which detains the larger contaminants. Also the pre-filter should be cleaned from time to time.
Here is an explanation of the positions of the valve:
- Filtering- the valve should be on this position during the normal operation of the filter system
- Drain- on this position you should drain the water from the pool
- Closed- during the winter or repair
- Backwash- when cleaning the sand filter
- Circulation- circulating of the water without filtering
- Rinse- the system rinsing after the backwash
Advice: Use only self-priming pumps.
They can be installed above the water level and are self- deaerating. Also the self-priming pumps have a greater cleaning power when you use a vacuum cleaner.
